James Graham has experience representing a diverse range of clients in complex matters at all jurisdictional levels, including the Federal Court, Supreme Court of Western Australia and State Administrative Tribunal.
A specialist in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, and an experienced advocate, James has represented clients in complex matters as both solicitor and counsel at every jurisdictional level including the Federal Court, Supreme Court of Western Australia, Court of Appeal and State Administrative Tribunal. He has also represented clients in a number of commercial arbitration proceedings.
James provides clients with strategic legal advice on issues including general contractual disputes, land compensation, native title, misleading and deceptive conduct, planning and development, negligence, insurance claims, taxation matters, regulatory offences, inheritance actions and matters involving the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
James is actively involved in the legal community. He is a former member of the Law Society Education Committee, Young Lawyers Committee and YLC Education, and was Chair of the Advocacy Working Group. He also helps train the next generation of litigators through his involvement in the LSWA mock trial program.
James completed his BA/LLB in at the University of Western Australia in 2003 and returned to complete a Graduate Diploma of Commercial and Resources Law, as well as a Master of Laws (Distinction). He has also been accepted into the University’s professional doctorate program.
In 2017, James was the recipient of a 40 Under 40 Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Western Australian legal and business communities.
