Nilan EkanayakeSpecial Counsel

Nilan is an experienced dispute resolution lawyer.

He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand in 2004, and in Western Australia and the High Court in 2009.

He has spent almost 15 years in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.  He worked in a major international law firm with Aaron for a number of years before moving to the independent bar.  During that time Nilan acted as instructing solicitor and as counsel in numerous matters across all State jurisdictions from the Magistrates Court to the Court of Appeal, as well as the Federal Court and several tribunals.

In 2015, Nilan was appointed to a quasi-judicial role where he headed up a team of arbitrators, hearing evidence and determining disputes arising in Western Australia.

Nilan brings a wealth of litigation experience to Pragma.  In particular, his extensive advocacy and counsel expertise will be of considerable benefit to the firm’s clients.
